Eleven years. Eleven years I have participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), and for eleven years I have completed the challenge of writing out 50,000 words in a month. One year I did 75,000. One year I finished in seven days.
There was even that one year I did 100,000 words. That was cray cray.
Now I’ve decided to step out into the deep end of this writing life and participate in Camp NaNo for the third time. Like regular NaNoWriMo wasn’t enough, right? Camp NaNo is pretty much the same, but you can use the time to edit instead of writing from scratch.
Took some work, but I managed to find two unpublished novels that I wrote out for the 2010 and 2015 NaNoWriMo challenges, and they both can be merged into one epic novel. I don’t really want to say too much more than that right now, except that my tentative title is MidLyte, and that it takes place on a planet other than Earth and is science fiction/fantasy.
It will be a miracle if I can complete Camp NaNoWriMo in the middle of everything else I have going on in April. Let’s do this!
Join me in my craziness at http://campnanowrimo.org/campers/davidcorbin, and let me know if you’re participating as well.
