There is so much hurt in the world, so much brokenness spread thick over humanity. Sometimes, it is so powerful that we want nothing more than to run and hide from it. We want to turn away, we want to pretend it isn’t there, that it doesn’t exist. We want to move on with our lives and reach the next checkpoint.
But don’t turn from it. Don’t ignore it. Don’t pass it by. Don’t cover your eyes or ask others to shield you from it.
Embrace it. Open your eyes and choose to look at the broken pieces. Know that everywhere there is evil, there is also good. There is always hope. You can reach out those hands that once covered your eyes and use them to rebuild, to repair, to reestablish. To pray that what was once whole can be made whole again.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. – Psalm 147:3
